Holly Ward – Resist Arrest, Assault Police With Weapon

On January 5th, Wingham Police were called to a Minnie Street address regarding an unwanted person. The woman attended the residence and was told to leave by the occupant. Once she was told that the police were called she left. The woman returned while police were on scene and began yelling at the officer and the resident. Police advised the woman to leave or face trespassing charges.

The woman continued yelling and walked toward the residence. Police were in the process of arresting the woman when she assaulted the officer with a weapon, similar to brass knuckles. The woman was arrested and held for bail. Holly Ward of Wingham faces charges of resist arrest, assault a peace officer with a weapon, causing a disturbance and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The officer sustained minor injuries. He attended the Wingham Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
