(PEMBROKE, ON) – On January 7, 2016 at approximately 10pm the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Round Lake Round in Laurentian Valley Township. A 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer was westbound on Highway 17 when it collided with a 2013 Toyota that was southbound on Round Lake Road. The female driver and lone occupant of the Toyota, 63 year old Ella DONAHUE, was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The tractor trailer did not stop and continued westbound on Highway 17 until it was eventually stopped by the Deep River Police on Highway 17 in Deep River. The male driver of the tractor trailer, 31 year old Amit ALI of Mississauga Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offences:

Careless Driving
He was released and summonsed to Provincial Offences Court on February 8, 2016 in the City of Pembroke.
