(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Thursday, April 17, 2014 at approximately 12:24 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on 19th Street West in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Ram pick-up truck with Alberta licence plates, had gone into the ditch. Two males were observed running from the vehicle.
Police arrived and observed a second pick-up truck at the scene. The Dodge Ram, which had just been pulled out of the ditch, proceeded to drive off without head lights/tail lights on. The vehicle, which failed to stop for police, was followed to Carney Street at which time the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The Owen Sound Police Service assisted with a brief foot search for the suspects. The vehicle was seized.
Later that morning, the owner of the Dodge Ram truck, contacted police to report his vehicle had been stolen.
Police continue to investigate the incident and would like to speak to the driver and or passenger(s) of the second pick-up truck which had assisted the driver of the Dodge Ram truck at the scene of the collision.
