(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – On October 29, 2013 at
approximately 7:48 p.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a hit and run motor
vehicle collision on Highway 65 East.
A pedestrian was struck by a west bound vehicle which then fled the
scene.
The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to the hospital and
sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Through investigation, a suspect was identified and charges have
been laid.
Jean-Charles MENARD 26 of Haileybury is charged with Fail to
remain – section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to
Stop at Scene of Accident – section 252 of the Criminal Code.
Accused will appear in Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on
February 11, 2014.
