(HAMILTON TWP, ON) –On July 22, 2015 at about 8pm Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 in the westbound lanes, east of County Road 45 (Cobourg exit #474).
Witnesses advised police that a small dark coloured car was weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed when it struck a red Jeep causing it to spin into both guardrails. The car then fled westbound at speeds reported to be between 130-150 km/h. The driver of the Jeep sustained injuries not considered life threatening. He was transported to hospital by EMS for treatment.
The car is described as similar to a BMW possibly blue in colour with several occupants. It would likely have damage to the front passenger side. The driver is described as a male with dark hair and a tan complexion.
