Hit And Run – Jogger Sent To Hospital

(Lansdowne,ON.) – Officers of the Leeds and Thousand Islands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing an investigation where a lone female jogger was struck in the Charleston Lake area of Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. It is believed the female was struck by the vehicle, its cargo, or possibly a vehicle accessory. The vehicle fled the scene.

On the 24th of July 2015, at about 10:00 AM a lone female was jogging on the south shoulder (heading east) on Woodvale Rd. She was located on the roadside by a passing motorist. She was in need of medical assistance.

The 34 year old female from the Ottawa area was transported to hospital in Kingston with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues with assistance from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigations Unit and OPP Identification Unit.
