(NORTH MARYSBURGH, ON) – On June 29th, 2017 at approximately 11:50 AM, Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a collision involving 2 vehicles at the intersection of County Road #8 and County Road #13 in North Marysburgh. One of the drivers involved left the scene of the collision. OPP located the driver and determined that he had been consuming alcohol prior to driving.
As a result of the investigation, the male driver was arrested. 64 Year Old George Steven FERGUSON of North Marysburgh has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 mL of Blood, Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol. He was also charged with Fail to Remain under the Highway Traffic Act. His vehicle was towed and will be held for 7 days. His driver’s license has also been suspended for 90 days, per Provincial Statute.
He was later released on a Promise to Appear. The male is scheduled for court at The Provincial Court of Justice, 62 King Street, Picton ON July 12th, 2017.
