(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On August 3, 2015 at 4:12 am a collision was reported to The City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The collision occurred on Highway 35 in the Pontypool area. One of the involved vehicles failed to remain at the scene of the crash.
Emergency services personnel attended the scene and the occupants of the vehicle remaining at the collision were all transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A search of the area was conducted and the other involved vehicle was located with no occupants. Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and a Canine officer attended the scene but no driver or vehicle occupants were located at the time.
The vehicle was towed from the scene for examination by a Forensic Identification Officer.
Investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen from the Bancroft area. The investigation continues.
