At approximately 10:48pm on the 26th of September 2013, police recieved information regarding motor vehicle accident on St. Vincent St. Officers attended the scene and discovered a vehicle rolled over. Initial investigation revealed that this vehicle had been parked and unoccupied when struck by another vehicle which had fled the scene. The officers were able to track the suspect vehicle’s leaking fluid to the area of Nelson Sq. where it was located unoccupied. Through investigation two suspects were located exiting a nearby townhouse. The male driver was arrested and taken to the police station where he was later charged with driving while disqualified, fail to remain and take auto without consent. The accused is likely to face more charges in relation to this incident after the collection of further forensic evidence. The 33 year old Barrie accused male was held for bail as he is presently before the courts on similar charges. Both vehicles were demolished.
