HIGHWAY 401 EASTBOUND CLOSED

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) -Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed Highway 401 eastbound at Oxford Road 29 due to a single vehicle collision.

The single vehicle collision involved a Campbell bus lines charter bus from Columbus Ohio, Wellington County school district carrying 30 grade 8 students with 3 adult chaperones on their way to Toronto.

There were minor injuries and one chaperone was transported to a local hospital. All school age children were treated and released at the scene.

OPP, Drumbo fire department and Oxford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) all responded to assist at this location.

401 Highway eastbound will remain closed. One lane of 401 eastbound will reopen in approximately one hour.

Emergency Detour Route (EDR) is in place.
