(HALIBURTON, ON) – Officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an incident on Highway 35 south of Dorset in the Township of Algonquin Highlands. As of 2:05 pm the highway was closed in both directions at Shoe Lake Road, due to a transport truck that had lost its load. A crane was brought in to assist in re-loading the transport. Road conditions in the area have since deteriorated significantly and OPP are advising motorist to drive with extreme caution. The highway will remain closed until the load can be re-attached to the transport truck. It is expected that the highway will be reopened before morning. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. Charges are pending at this time.
