(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Friday the 02nd of August 2013, at approximately 4:45 a.m. the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a tractor trailer collision on Highway 118 in the Municipality of Highlands East. Investigation revealed that the tractor trailer was travelling west on Highway 118 when it travelled onto the shoulder and the trailer struck a rock cut. The trailer then became detached from truck and rolled.
The driver of the truck, 55 year old John CAMPBELL or Omemee, Ontario did not sustain any injuries. CAMPBELL has been charged with careless driving.
Highway 118 is currently reduced to one lane of traffic in the area of the collision.
