Herbert FURGUSON – Drunk Driving Golf Cart

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while responding to a call on 11 June 2016 at approximately 11:35 p.m. noticed a Golf cart travelling on the west Quarter Road and stopped the vehicle for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Police determined through investigation that the driver had been drinking alcohol and the male driver was arrested.

OPP investigators have charged 51-year-old Herbert FURGUSON of the County of Brant with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charge. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
