Heat Warning in effect for:
Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County
Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County
Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
A heat episode is expected today and Friday for most regions in Southern Ontario. Daytime temperatures will reach the low thirties with afternoon humidex values in the mid to upper thirties. Overnight lows will be near 20 degrees.
This latest heat episode will come to an end Friday night with the passage of a cold front.
Frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.
Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.
Prepare meals that don’t need to be cooked in your oven.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
