HEALEY – Drive While Suspended, Drugs, Obstruct

(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On March 8th, 2016 at approximately 3:00 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Beachwood Road at Mosley Street and stopped a motor vehicle that had an odor of Cannabis Marihuana emanating from it.

A further OPP investigation into this motor vehicle and its driver revealed that he was in possession of a quantity of Cannabis Marihuana. A Police check into this driver revealed that when he initially identified himself he did so falsely and that he was under suspension from driving.

Charged with “Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana” and “Obstruct Peace Officer” is Robert L. HEALEY 35 years of age from Wasaga Beach. Police have further charged the accused with “Driving while under suspension” under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. First appearance is April 26, 2016 in Collingwood Court.
