Hawkesbury Police Press Releases

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On Wednesday afternoon July 20th, 2016, Hawkesbury OPP officers intercepted a 2006 red Chevrolet Impala in the Town of Hawkesbury.

Interaction with the male driver resulted in the discovery of illicit drugs. Cannabis Marihuana, Cocaine, methamphetamine (speed) tablets and Canadian currency were found in his vehicle and on his person.

As a result of the driver’s arrest, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), assisted by the Hawkesbury Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant in the Champlain Township, resulting in the seizure of cannabis marihuana bud, cannabis marihuana shake and methamphetamine (speed) tablets.

The driver, Daniel BROWN (42 yrs) of Champlain Township, was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following sections:

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg

Melissa DUVAL (34 yrs) of Champlain Township, was also arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following sections:

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg

– 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

The estimated, combined street value of the seized controlled substances is over $6,700.00

BROWN and DUVAL were released and scheduled to appear at court on September 28th, 2016 in L’Orignal.

(ALFRED-PLANTAGENET, ON) – On August 04th, 2016, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) – Hawkesbury Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), assisted by the East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant in the Alfred-Plantagenet Township, resulting in the seizure of cannabis marihuana plants and cannabis marihuana clones.

The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is over $230,000.00

Police seized offence related property that consisted of marihuana production equipment.

Jacqueline ROULEAU (41 yrs) of Hawkesbury was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following section:

– 7(1) Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marihuana)

She was not released and kept for a bail hearing at L’Orignal court. She was later released on a Recognizance of Bail pending her next court date scheduled on September 27th, 2016.

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On Wednesday August 10th, 2016, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), assisted by the East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant in the Town of Hawkesbury, resulting in the seizure of cannabis marihuana, cannabis marihuana resin, cannabis marihuana shake, cannabis marihuana clones and oxycodone pills.

The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is over $4,200.00

Gaston CADIEUX (33 yrs) of Hawkesbury was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following sections:

– 4(1) Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams

– 4(1) Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – under 1gram

– 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

– 7(1) Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marihuana)

He was also charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following offence:

– 733.1(1) Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was released and scheduled to appear at court on September 28th, 2016 in L’Orignal.
