Have Your Say On Pedestrian Crossovers

The Municipality of North Perth is looking for your input on the location of pedestrian crossovers in the municipality.

Triton Engineering recently completed a review of pedestrian crossovers in Listowel. The purpose of the review was to increase pedestrian mobility and safety and establish consistent designs for the municipality’s crosswalks and crossovers. Locations were studied based on observed traffic volumes, physical site conditions, proximity to other traffic control devices, system connectivity and pedestrian preferences. Residents were invited to a Public Information Centre on June 27th to learn about the project and give in-person input on the draft review and recommendations. Based on the review and public input, upgrades to four existing pedestrian crossovers will begin this fall, with other locations being monitored for future need.

North Perth is now encouraging residents to visit Your Say North Perth, the Municipality’s new online engagement platform, to have their say on the pedestrian crossovers project.

The Municipality is looking for feedback on the pedestrian crossover locations recommended through the review, as well as input from residents on where they commonly cross and believe a pedestrian crossover would be helpful. The consultation also shares important information on the rules for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers regarding pedestrian crossovers, including the new penalties for crossover-related offences.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get involved and play an active role in an important Municipal project! We encourage you to join the conversation and share your thoughts and ideas. Visit www.yoursaynorthperth.ca today to see what everyone is talking about!
