(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –Members of the County of Brant and Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a single vehicle collision between a car and a hydro pole on Highway #54 in the County of Brant on 24 June 2016 at approximately 3:45 a.m.
The 2015 Hyundai Santa fe was located by police and the 53-year-old driver Harvey BOMBERRY of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation was arrested and charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)
Driving While Ability Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a)
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
The driver and 2 passengers from the vehicle were all transported to local hospital via ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries
