(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On June 24, 2016, shortly after 2:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call from a male who was a victim of a break, enter and theft, from a month prior that had already been reported to police in the City of Elliot Lake.
The victim told police that he just received a call from a female claiming to have some of the property, that was taken from his break and enter and she was willing to sell it back to him. The two later met at an area on Paris Drive where the exchange of money and property would take place. Police attended the area and identified the female. Some of the victim’s property was recovered.
Harley SAMPSON, 20 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was arrested and charged with: Possession Property Obtained by Crime- Under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 2, 2016.
MALE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On June 26, 2016, shortly after 1:30 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault in the City of Elliot Lake. An 18 year old female was grabbed by the hair and punched by an intoxicated friend in her apartment.
As a result of the investigation, a 17 year old male, from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with: Assault (X2), contrary to section 266, of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 2, 2016.
