HARGRAVE – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 24, 2016, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of a 1995 GMC pick-up truck after observing the vehicle being driven erratically in Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate.

The driver had been drinking alcohol. An open case of beer was observed beside the driver’s seat and two empty beer cans were observed directly under the driver’s seat.

The lone driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Markdale OPP Detachment for breath tests which he failed.

43-year old Ian David HARGRAVE of the Municipality of Grey Highlands was charged with the Criminal offence of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system.

He was also issued a Part III Summons for failing to surrender an insurance card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

A court date of April 14, 2016 has been set in Owen Sound to speak to the charges.
