(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Monday, January 4, 2016, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the Grey-Bruce Line in the Township of Chatsworth in response to a report of a vehicle in the ditch.
The driver of the vehicle, a 2002 Nissan Sentra, was travelling northbound on the Grey-Bruce Line when he lost control of the vehicle. Neither the driver, nor the female passenger was injured.
Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines. Further investigation revealed that the licence plates on the vehicle were not registered and that the vehicle was not insured. Subsequently, the plates were seized by police and the vehicle was towed to a local compound.
At approximately 10:18 a.m. police received information that the un-plated, suspect vehicle was observed travelling westbound on Hwy. 21 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Police intercepted the vehicle, which was being driven by the former female passenger, with the male party on board in the passenger seat.
31-year old David E. REYNOLDS of Hanover, Ontario was charged with driving while under suspension, use plates not authorized for vehicle, owner operate motor vehicle – no insurance and owner permit motor vehicle to operate without insurance. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 16, 2016.
36-year old Maryanne LANTING of Ripley, Ontario was charged with driving a motor vehicle without licence plates.
