(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit and Orillia OPP officers arrested 3 individuals and seized a handgun during a traffic stop in Orillia.
On December 22, 2013 at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle outside of a Peter Street North address and arrested two males and a female for Possession of a Controlled Substance. During a search of the vehicle, a handgun was located.
Tyler SCOTT, 18 years old of Collingwood; Jesse GALLANT, 18 years old of Barrie and Amanda ALBERT, 20 years old of Barrie have been charged with numerous weapons offences including:
Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
SCOTT was also charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Marihuana, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and other offences.
ALBERT and GALLANT were released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia on February 4th, 2014.
SCOTT was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing today in Barrie.
