(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) As a result of information received, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Unit has investigated allegations of a historic sexual assault.
The investigation revealed that during the mid-seventies within the City of Stratford, a then adult and a co-accused youth, committed sexual offences on a young female victim.
As a result, Thomas CHALMERS (56) of the Municipality of West Perth, and a second male from the City of Stratford were arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
– Abduction of a female
– Indecent assault female
– Adult rape
Thomas CHALMERS is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on March 10, 2014, while the second male is set to appear on February 24, 2014 to answer to the charges.
