(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County detachment have charged a 27-year-old male after police were called to investigate an incident at a Sydenham Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Saturday, March 19, 2016 at approximately 1:38 a.m., police responded to a Sydenham, Street address after being contacted by a concerned resident.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that a male became involved in a verbal altercation which then turned into a physical confrontation with another male and female.
Officers arrived on scene and were assaulted by the male who was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
As a result of investigation, police arrested and charged 27-year-old year Filipe Goncalves GUIMARAES of Norfolk County, Ontario with assault a peace officer X2.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
