Guelph Police Daily News Release – October 16, 2015

On October 15, 2015 at 9:48 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Douglas Street business to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a window sometime overnight and stole cash.

Theft from cars

On October 15, 2015 the Guelph Police received three reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Arthur Street North, Christopher Court and Woodlawn Road West.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Shoplifters arrested

On October 15, 2015 at 6:03 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Walmart to assist with two shoplifters. It is alleged that both females concealed items and left the store without paying for them. They were arrested by a Loss Prevention Officer.

Darlene Ebel, 58 years and Kendra Ebel, 32 years, both from Guelph have been charged with theft under $5,000. They will appear in court on December 1, 2015.

Property damage

On October 16, 2015 at 3:48 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report that two males smashed windshields on two cars parked on McElderry Road. One male was described as wearing dark clothing and the other wearing light coloured clothing. Both ran from the area.
