Guelph Police Daily News Release – 28Jan2016

On January 28, 2016 at 1:10 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the Westwood Road area for the complaint of two males trying to get into cars. Police located both males on Westwood Road and investigation led to their arrest. A search subsequent to arrest discovered break in tools.

A 22-year-old Guelph male has been charged with attempt theft under $5,000 and possession of break in tools. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for theft under $5,000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 28, 2016.

A 26-year-old Guelph male has been charged with attempt theft under $5,000 and possession of break in tools. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 28, 2016.

Break and enter

On January 27, 2016 at 10:44 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Monticello Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) had entered sometime in the previous hour. The rear patio glass door was smashed. A theft of jewelry and cash is reported.

Theft from cars

On January 27, 2016 the Guelph Police received three reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Paul Avenue, Speedvale Avenue West and Sultan Street.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
