Guelph Police Daily News Release – 09Sept2016

On September 8, 2016 at 3:30 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to a motel in the north end of the city, where there was a report of an attempted robbery. Two males who were known to the victim brandished weapons and attempted to rob him for money. Shortly after 5:00 p.m. the two suspects were arrested on Norwich Street.

A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with attempt robbery and weapons dangerous.

A 22-year-old Guelph male has been charged with attempt robbery, utter threat, weapons dangerous, breach of probation and failing to comply with a weapons prohibition order.

Both males were held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 9, 2016.

Break and enter

On September 8, 2016 at 9:18 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a York Road business to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a shipping container located in the back of the business and stole scrap copper.

Break and enter

On September 8, 2016 at 10:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway North apartment building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the laundry room and damaged the machines. No theft is believed to have occurred.
