Guelph Police Daily News Release – 09June2016

On June 8, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Deerpath Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a shed sometime overnight and stole a bicycle.

In addition to this break and enter into a shed, there were two attempt break and enters into sheds on Bronwyn Place.

Continued Stop Sign Enforcement

The Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit continue to monitor stop signs throughout the city. As a result of a complaint received, the Guelph Police Service Traffic unit monitored a stop sign at Nicklin and Burns, where two drivers received a ticket for failing to stop for a stop sign within an hour.

Guelph Police would like to remind the community that wherever a stop sign is posted, it is the law to come to a complete stop before the marked line on the roadway or before a marked crosswalk or before entering the intersection. Failure to do so could result in a fine of $110 and 3 demerit points.

The Guelph Police were involved in 161 incidents in the past 24 hours. Incidents involve everything from traffic stops and accidental 911 calls to domestics and break and enters.
