(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –While on patrol members of the West Region Highway Enforcement Team (H.E.T.) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) noticed a blue 2008 Chev Malibu for a violation under the Highway Traffic Act on Old Greenfield Road in The County of Brant at approximately 11:30 p.m. on 14 March 2016.
OPP officers stopped a vehicle and conducted further investigation. The OPP have arrested and charged 38-year-old Steven GROSBECK of Chippewa’s of the Grand River First Nations with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
Driving while disqualified
Obstruct police
Failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking
He was also charged under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act for possession of Marihuana, Smoke free Ontario Act for smoking tobacco in a prohibited place.
The male was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:
Driving under suspension
Driving without a licence
Failing to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Driving a motor vehicle without proper headlights
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
