(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On June 11, 2015 the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police observed a possible suspended driver operating a silver Chevrolet pickup truck on Hazel Road.
Officers initiated a vehicle stop and determined that the 71 year old male driver had been drinking alcohol.
A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail”. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment for further breath tests.
As a result of the investigation, Grenville SNAKE, from Munsee Delaware First Nation, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer to the charges on July 23, 2015 in the London courts.
