(WAWA, ON) – On Wednesday September 28, 2016 at approximately 8:30 pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachments were advised of a theft of gas from a local Wawa gas station. Further investigation revealed that the male driver was also responsible for a theft of gas in the Bruce Mines area. A description of the motor vehicle in question and the male driver was broadcast for police information.
At approximately 9:30 pm the motor vehicle was observed approaching a R.I.D.E Program set up in White River Ontario.
As a result Gregory CARLTON (45) of Hatchet Lake Nova Scotia was arrested and charged with the following offences;
Adult- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
Adult- Theft Under $5,000 contrary to section 334(b) of the CCC,
Adult- Driving While Disqualified- Court Order contrary to section 259(4) of the CCC.
The accused was held for a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario on Thursday September 29, 2016.
