(Grand Bend, ON) – On July 4, 2015 members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an R.I.D.E. check on Main Street, Grand Bend, Ontario.
On this date at about 3:00pm the OPP observed a motor vehicle enter the R.I.D.E check. Subsequent investigation resulted in the driver producing a breath sample in excess of twice the legal limit. As a result of this investigation, Alan Wade MAY, 49 years of age of London Ontario was arrested and charged with allegedly Driving a Motor Vehicle while having over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 mls of Blood and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Alcohol. He is to appear at the Sarnia Court House on the July 20, 2015 in order to answer to the allegations.
The OPP rely on the public to report crime and impaired driving is a crime that should be treated no differently. If you suspect that someone is driving or about to drive impaired, call 9-1-1 and report it. If you see that someone is impaired by alcohol or other drugs and intends on driving, strongly discourage them from driving and call 9-1-1 if they insist.
