(Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh, ON) On May 23, 2010 at approximately 08:00 a.m. an assault occurred at the Falls Reserve Conservation Area. The park superintendent set to the morning task of evicting a group of campers who had been drinking alcohol and had been disruptive for the night. The campground had an alcohol ban in place for the long weekend and the campers had been clearly disobeying the rules. When the park superintendent met with the campers to deliver the news, one male became increasingly defiant and disruptive. The male then assaulted the park superintendent. Following the assault, the entire group scrambled to flee the area in numerous vehicles. Huron OPP officers attended the scene and interviewed witnesses. Having a description of the vehicle and the suspect as well as a plate number for his car, the male was located later in Middlesex County by the OPP.
As a result of the incident, Graham WOJTOWICH (22) of Dorchester was arrested and has been charged with one count of Assault. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 12, 2010. LP10133348
