(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Rideau Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a fatality that occurred on 15 Highway in Rideau Lakes Township.
On the 7th of May 2016 at about 12:30 AM Rideau Lakes O.P.P officers investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 15 near Frayn Road where an 18 year old male was deceased at the scene.
Police are seeking two males travelling in an older model blue or black pick-up truck that stopped to render assistance. The two males used a tow strap and their own vehicle to move one of the two involved vehicles farther away from the vehicle that had caught fire. That vehicle still had a trapped female inside.
Had it not been for the selfless acts of these two males, the outcome for the trapped female would have been tragic. It is believed the males departed southbound on 15 Highway.
The two good Samaritans, or anyone knowing the identities of these two males, or anyone who stopped to render assistance, are asked to contact Leeds OPP Staff Sergeant Jason Butcher or Constable Chuck Doran at 1-888-310-1122 or 613-345-1790.
