(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On Monday April 18, 2016 at approximately 6:30 a.m. members of the Collingwood detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to call for help from a Collingwood resident after an elderly male had slipped into the water.
The 85 year old male was out walking along the path at the Lighthouse Point condominium complex when he slipped down about five feet into the water. Another male resident heard the elderly male yelling for help. The resident held the male above water while he dialed 911 for help. The police arrived and assisted with lifting the male out of the water.
The male suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
