Gjergj SHKURTI – Refuse To Blow, Fail To Move Over For Emergency Vehicle

(Douro-Dummer Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male after failing to provide a breath sample shortly after 7:30pm Saturday evening.

While officers were conducting an unrelated traffic stop, the suspect’s vehicle passed marked police cars without moving over. The suspect’s vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have been drinking. Gjergj SHKURTI (age 37) of Faraday Township was arrested and charged with:

Failing to move into another lane for emergency vehicle

Failing to provide a breath sample

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, ON August 18, 2016.
