(COCHRANE, ON) – On February 25, 2016, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP North East Region Criminal Investigation Unit began an investigation of a sexual assault which had occurred in the Town of Cochrane.
On February 25, 2016, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police executed a warrant on Hanna Road and arrested Gerald MACGILLIVRAY, 60, of Cochrane, Ontario. He was charged with two counts of Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).
The accused attended a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on February 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at which time he was released on a recognizance. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on March 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for his first appearance.
