(PETROLIA, ON) –Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Lambton Shores Fire Department and Union Gas is presently at the scene of a natural gas leak, at Lakeshore Road, just east of Indian Hills Trail West, Municipality of Lambton Shores.
On Tuesday June 16th, 2015, at approximately 7:52 a.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to attend an area on Lakeshore Road regarding a gaseous odour. Upon arrival, natural gas was observed bubbling up out of a small pond and determined to be a natural gas pocket. Indian Hills Trail West will be restricted to local traffic only as it is unknown at this time how long this natural gas leak will continue.
Lambton County OPP along with Lambton Shores Fire Department and Union Gas are still at scene investigating this natural event.
Lambton County OPP would like to advise that Public Safety is paramount and are requesting that the general public avoid the area at this time.
