(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 2, 2015 at 1:18 a.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was stationary, monitoring speeds of vehicles on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. A northbound black car was speeding and while following the vehicle, the officer observed the car weaving and nearly hitting the guard wire posts. Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Garrett PILTMAN, 22 years of age from Kitchener, was arrested and charged with:
· Driving while Ability Impaired – motor vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
· Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood contrary to the CC.
· Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on October 15, 2015 to answer to his charges.
