FREEMAN – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended, Open Liquor

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – An officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle at approximately 1:40 am on May 5, 2016 for erratic driving. The vehicle was stopped on Lindsay Street in Fenelon Falls.

An investigation was commenced and the driver was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

Drive While Suspended contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act

The accused, 26 year old, Justin FREEMAN of Fenelon Falls is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on June 2, 2016.
