Barrie Police were called to a Duckworth St plaza for a male who ran away from a taxi after refusing to pay a $40.00 fare.
After a short search, the male was located by Barrie Police in a nearby yard.
The male was investigated and found to have no money in which to pay for the cab and was also on a recognizance to be at his residence (in south Barrie) during the nighttime hours.
The male was arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Service where he is awaiting a bail hearing for Fraud and breaching his recognizance.
Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in this occurrence.
