On April 28, 2014 at 11:51 a.m., a high school resource officer, from the Guelph Police Youth and Crime Prevention Unit was in the area of Preservation Park on foot patrol when four students were located in a concealed area off the trail smoking marihuana. All four students were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
All four were later released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act extrajudicial measures program and approximately 12 grams of marihuana was seized.
