Four Students Sent To Hospital After Bus Driver Runs Stop Sign

On Monday September 14, 2015 at approximately 2:00pm, a collision occurred at the intersection of Sandhills Road and Gingrich Road in the Township of Wilmot. A school bus was stopped at the stop sign on Sandhills Road when a mini van was travelling Westbound on Gingrich Road with the right of way. The school bus entered the intersection and was struck by the mini van. The 68 year old New Hamburg Resident driving the mini van was transported to hospital with minor injuries. Four students on the bus were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The students’ ages ranged from 15 to 18 years old. The 53 year old Waterloo man driving the school bus was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic in Through Highway.
