(THAMES CENTRE, ON) On Friday July 26, 2013 members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two separate occurrences at the Mustang Drive-In located on Wilton Grove Road, Thames Centre. Police were informed by staff at the facility that four separate guests were located drinking alcohol at their vehicles while watching movies. Police attended the scene and spoke with all of the involved parties.
At 9:02 p.m. police spoke with two males parties and as a result of an investigation police have charged John DUPIUS, age 54 of London, ON and Ronald Dupuis age 62 of London, ON with one count each of having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place as per Section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
At 10:59 p.m. police re-attended the Mustang Drive-In a spoke with a second group including a male and female. As a result of an investigation police have charged Benjamin SHIELDS, age 23 of Southwest Middlesex and Shandel CARNEGIE, age 19 of Central Elgin with having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place as per Section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
All four individuals were issued a Provincial Offence Notice (PON) under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA) and released at the scene without incident.
The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that there is a safe and appropriate time to consume alcohol. Every day, four more Canadians are killed and 175 more are injured due to crashes related to alcohol and/ or drugs.
