(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles where four occupants were injured and a driver charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence. The collision occurred at Highway 6 and Second Line in Hagersville, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Thursday August 25, 2016 at approximately 12:58 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to the intersection of Highway 6 and Second Line for a two vehicle collision.
OPP investigation has determined that a grey Pontiac Pursuit was travelling northbound on Highway 6 and collided with a black GMC Yukon that was turning westbound onto Second Line.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 6 were blocked.
The 23-year-old male driver of the Pontiac Pursuit and his one-year-old male passenger were transported to a local area hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.
The 46-year-old female driver of the GMC Yukon was not injured, however, a 51-year-old male passenger and a 12-year-old female passenger were transported to a local area hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 6 was closed between First Line and Third Line for approximately one hour.
OPP has charged 23-year-old Devon SAMPANO of Hagersville, Ontario with Careless Driving under The Highway Traffic Act.
