Forest Fire Prompts Evacuation Of Ingolf Ontario – Public Also To Avoid Longpine, Macra and Rice Lake Areas

(KENORA, ON) On May 5, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m, members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a request from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) to evacuate citizens from the community of Ingolf, Ontario due to a forest fire.

The OPP, MNRF and volunteer firefighters are continuing to evacuate the area. Police are requesting citizens to refrain from attending Ingolf, Longpine Lake, Macara Lake and Rice Lake area this weekend contrary to the Forest Fire Prevention Act.
