(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – On Thursday, November 14th, 2013, at 8:41am, Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were responding to a motor vehicle involving personal injury collision on Highway 89 and County Road 56 in Essa Townshiop.
The Officer noticed he was being followed by a vehicle who was maintaining the same speed behind the police cruiser. The vehicle appeared to be following him to the collision. The vehicle followed Police from Highway 89 and Tottenham Road to County Road 56.
The Officer stopped the driver of the vehicle that followed him to the collision and had him wait while he attended to the injuries in the collision.
Charged is 39 year old Gerald JONES of Orillia, he is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Stunt Driving- Operate Motor Vehicle in a marked departure from norm. He received a provincial offences notice and has an upcoming court date.
