(LAMBTON, ON) – On Saturday July 9th, 2016 the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy with calls for service in relation to an event advertised as the “Sombra Bridge Bash” which was held on Saturday July 9th, 2016 in the St. Clair River, St. Clair Township. This event was advertised via social media and attracted an estimated 100 vessels and a further estimated 500 people.
The Lambton County OPP responded to several calls for service in relation to this event. However, of great concern to the Lambton OPP, were four calls for service in relation to five individuals who were in medical distress due to an alleged drug overdose. The Lambton County OPP Street Crime Unit has now taken the lead into this investigation and is presently attempting to identify the source of the illegal drugs.
The Lambton County OPP is also asking that if anyone has information regarding the person(s) responsible or has information regarding the source of the drugs, to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 882-1011, or their nearest police authority.
