(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Wednesday November 25, 2015 at approximately 5:30 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call to assist the Burk’s Falls and District Fire Department with a garage that was on fire.
OPP attended the Ferguson Road property and were alerted to a large amount of marihuana plants growing inside the residence. Almaguin Highlands OPP uniform and Crime Unit members executed a search warrant later that same day and with assistance from the North East Region Drug Enforcement Unit, the Burk’s Falls and District Fire Department, the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office (OFM) and Hydro One they seized 655 marihuana plants and a variety of drug production equipment with an approximate value of $655,000.
Police are continuing to investigate and charges are pending.
