(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have now charged two youths in relation to a fire which took place recently in the Town of Collingwood.
On the 4th of June 2015 at approximately 10:20pm, The Collingwood Fire Department and the Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP were dispatched to an unoccupied commercial structure fire at 255 Grey Road 21 in the Town of Collingwood. The fire caused extensive damage to the building however thankfully no one was hurt as a result of the blaze.
The fire was eventually extinguished and the scene was secured by OPP officers as a member of The Office of the Ontario Marshal (OFM) was dispatched to the scene. As a result of the investigation, two youths, 15 years old and 16 years old, both from Collingwood, are now facing one count each of Mischief over $5000.
They are to appear in Collingwood Court on the 6th of August 2015. Both accused cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
